Early Obstetric Scans

Early obstetric scans may be performed between 6 and 11 weeks of pregnancy. Keep in mind that this is 6 to 11 weeks from the first day of the last menstrual period. This examination determines the age of the pregnancy, the number of pregnancies and will give you an estimated date of delivery. Other measurements will include the size of the pregnancy sac, babies heart rate and an assessment of the ovaries. This examination is particularly helpful if you are unsure of you last menstrual period and will give you an accurate assessment of the age of the pregnancy. These scans currently cost € 120.
